The first step is to pick out your flowers.

When designing your own vases, you'll want stems of varying heights and textures to fill out the bouquet.

I went to Michaels and picked two different styles. One stem is similar to grass with long, wispy leaves, and the other has more flowers.

I am making six small arrangements, and I purchased two stems of each style and six glass bottles to use as vases.

The stems I used are from the Spring section and aren't available year-round, but they can be substituted with any flower to fit your color scheme.

Even if you aren't familiar with arranging flowers, this project is simple and can be completed in minutes.

The first step is to cut the individual stems from the bush with a pair of wire cutters.

The larger stem at the base can be thrown away once all other stems have been removed.

Repeat with the grass bush to remove the individual stems.

When all of the stems have been cut, you can begin arranging.

I start by adding 2 grass stems to the glass bottle.

Then, I grabbed two flower stems with different flowers and inserted them between the grass stems.

The look I am trying to create is a floral focus in the center framed by the grass leaves that extend around the flowers.

These bottles are great because the neck is small, keeping the flowers close together, so only a few stems are needed.

I made these artificial flower arrangements to decorate for my niece's bridal shower.

I wanted to keep the decorations simple with a touch of elegance, so I placed as centerpieces on the food table and several other surfaces.

These faux floral arrangements were a simple and perfect decoration.

Our bridal shower was a big success! Here are a few more DIY ideas.
