Any size of envelope will work. The size of your bag is all determined by the size of your envelope.

There are two options to begin with. Either cut the top flap off or adhere it down and cut off the top edge with your paper trimmer.

Fold the bottom of the envelope up about ¾ inch, as well as both sides.

This helps make a nice crease in the envelope for when we turn it into a bag.

If you are going to decorate the front of the bag this is the time I do it. The front of the bag is solid without any seams.

Plus with your sides/bottom folded over you have a better idea of how big the front of the bag will be.

Open the envelope bag. If you made your folds right, you will see the folds for the sides and the bottom of the bag.

Pinch along the fold lines to create a nice solid crease.

Push the bottom to make it flat. This will cause the two sides of the bottom to make points.

Fold the two points down and secure them with tape, making the bottom of the bag.

Now you can use the envelope as a bag and fill it with candy, jewelry, or any small gift!
